Is the center licensed?
Precious Gifts Day Care, LLC. is a state licensed childcare center with a well-educated and highly trained staff of professionals. Our facility meets all state codes regarding health, safety, staff qualifications, activities, and staff/child ratios.
Does the center offer a safe and comfortable environment for my child?
Precious Gifts Day Care, LLC. is a fully functional childcare center which meets the highest standards of safety. Inside is painted with bright colors, and our outdoor playing area is completed fenced in.
Is the staff qualified?
With over 20 years of combined experience, all of Precious Gifts Day Care LLC staff members are highly trained professionals. Many are college graduates and have children of their own. At Precious Gifts we combine learning with a fun and our outgoing staff provides the right mix.
Will my child have the opportunity for learning and creative expression?
At Precious Gifts, we believe every child is an individual who has his/her own rate of physical development and own pace of learning. Each child is accepted, loved, nurtured and taught as an individual with this thought in mind. Our main concern and goal is to see your child grow physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally to the best of his/her ability. Through music, dramatic play and art, your child will be able to express himself/herself creatively.
What activities are available at the center?
Precious Gifts Day Care Center LLC, offers a wide range of activities each designed for different ages and levels. Your child’s day consists of scheduled activities, which are incorporated into our exciting weekly themes. Activities include circle time, arts and crafts, creative learning centers, storytelling, indoors and outdoors play.
Is there a positive method of discipline through education versus punishment?
Precious Gifts Day Care LLC creates an environment that is supportive and respectful of your child’s needs. When children are arguing or out of control, we will insist on a cooling off period. When children are displaying inappropriate behavior, they will be redirected to a more suitable activity. Precious Gifts staff will not physically punish your child by spanking, slapping or hitting. Our goal is to help each child develop a strong sense of self-discipline and self-esteem.
Are field trips and enrichment activities part of the program?
Yes, and parents are also invited to attend these special trips. Parents can view our special events on the calendar of events page, or by reading the newsletters mailed to you each month.
Are nutritious foods and beverages provided throughout the day?
Each day 2 snacks will be given at 9:30am and 3:00pm. Lunch will be served at 11:30. All children receive a nutritious, well-balanced meal. Parents will receive a menu on the last or first day of the month
Will I be welcomed if I want to visit the center?
We believe parents are the most important people in a child’s world, and will make every effort to support you as a family. As part of our “Open Door Policy”, you are invited to visit unannounced, providing an opportunity for you view your child in their everyday setting. Of course we carefully check anyone who comes to our facility throughout the day.
Is the Director accessible for questions?
Precious Gifts Day Care, LLC Director Cheryl Ambicki will always make time to speak with you. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding your child or the center in general, please feel free to contact the Director at 732-424-8110. Other Questions to be asked include:
· Are health guidelines and emergency phone numbers posted clearly?
· Are health care policies in place, including hand washing before and after changing diapers, blowing noses and preparing food?
· Is the center clean?
· Are emergency procedures and evacuation routes established and practiced regularly?
· Is there adequate adult supervision for each age group and activity?
· Are records used to help parents and staff better understand the child, including daily written reports and incident reports?
· Are there opportunities for informal and formal discussions about the child?
· Do parents have access to child care resources through the center including information on child development and parenting?
